Chaos Team - Lady of Stone

I present you the new member of the Chaos Team. This is my friend Mari Carmen. She always whine about the fact that I never draw her, so here is her present ^^

This is the story...

Long time ago, a group of voyagers found an old village in ruins. There was no sign of life, and they needed a place to begin a new life, so they repared the houses and claimed the village as their own. Even in summer, the village was surrounded by fog and a cold and silent wind.

Of course, people die. And, luckily for them, there was a cemetery not very far from their homes. Most of the tombs were broken for the past of years and there were no bodies inside, so they respectfully removed the rests and started to bury their dead in that land.

There was a beautiful and old statue just in the middle of the graveyard. Dressed on medieval clothes, a young woman stared at the distance in the fog. The statue was so realistic that it was almost haunting.

But not so haunting as when some of them discovered that her stone hairs sometimes flied with the wind... or her hands changed position.

The graveyard was full of new tombs when a rumor started to run over the place.
Some kids said that they saw the Lady of Stone.
Slowly walking through the tombstones.
A bunch of citizens went to the cemetery to prove that is was just a stupid rumor.

But the Lady of Stone had changed her position, and the statue was in a different place. This event happened a few times more, and the scared citizens decided to break the statue. They went to the graveyard with picks and hammers, and reduced the Lady to rubble. Then, a priest exorcized the place with holy water and all the village prayed for a night and a day.

The remains of the Lady were separated with miles of distance, burned (as stone can be burned), exorcized again, and buried.

Three nights later, the Lady of Stone was just in her place in the middle of the graveyard, with her calm expression in her cold face, intact and complete as if nothing had happened.

The tombs around her were devastated, with the corpses dropped over the dead grass. The tombstones were completely broken as the rotting bodies.
She had got dry blood and mud in her grey, cold and delicate hands.

The entire village fell in horror and they exorcized the graveyard the same as before. The Lady went back to her place, and every time they broke her, she returned and more and more tombs were desecrated. At first, it was only criminal´s sepultures. But when the Lady couldn´t find more corrupted tombs, she came after dead honest men, women, and finally children and babies.

The citizens decided to move away. They took their belongings and walked away. Some months later, they had built a new, small village, with a tiny graveyard. Scared, they surrounded the cemetery with crosses, holy water in vessels, candles, and they prayed every night before going to sleep.

When the first man was buried, the Lady of Stone appeared at the cold morning, just in the middle of the place, in the top of her pedestal, with a rotting head in her frozen hand, from the last dead they buried in the old cursed graveyard.

And they knew that she never would leave them. Forever.
